A couple feet would effect Sunshine.

I can't remember the exact results and certainly don't want to peruse all the Lidar threads for it, but I recall that Sunshine is somewhere in the 14,005 to 14,007 range via Lidar data and thus would be safe with a couple foot drop.

Ok good! Didn't realize Sunshine got bumped up a bit.

I think it was one of the first Lidar threads when this all started being discussed a few weeks ago, Huron and Holy Cross also have a few feet of leeway. Glad all of them should be safe with the potential future elevation adjustements.

I've yet to take a third look at those, but my second look without picture or video input has these results:

Sunshine Peak,37.92277,-107.42555,14004
Huron Peak,38.94553,-106.43807,14006
Mount of the Holy Cross,39.46683,-106.48169,14007

As well as provide an easier route by going over Challenger vs. going over Columbia. The traverse from Columbia to Kit Carson is no joke: Hard to keep it to Class 3 and has a high amount of exposure.
When I reached Columbia Point and looked at that traverse...I was glad I had already summited KC via Challenger Point!

Many thanks to all the data-crunchers doing all this work! :-D Can't wait until the new datum comes out and we get to re-visit all this again.

I'm not gonna stress about any of this until the complete new data and list comes out.

Turns out I might have already climbed the "new" peaks anyways

My plan is to not stress out even after all the data are in and analyzed. But i'll be following this also in the interim and much appreciate the effort of you data crunchers!

And i like North Maroon Peak being ranked. Which also gives El Diente the distinction of being the only non-ranked 14er on the CMC list. Cheers to El Diente!

The LOMC (Lords of the Mountain Club) should take this opportunity to straighten their lists out regarding El Diente. If they are going to continue counting it as a 14er which I’m fine with since it is .75 of a mile away from Wilson Pk, then it counts as a Cent and Bicent too. Elementary school mathematical set theory is involved here. Since 14ers are a subset of Centennials and Bicentennials, if El Diente is in the subset it is in the larger sets too. I believe it is incorrect to count it as a 14er then revert to strict 300’ prominence for the others. Or not count it at all Lords but get your act together one way or the other.

If my understanding is right it's not only El Diente, but also Cameron, Conundrum, and North Eolus. Even though the LOMC doesn't listen to my thoughts, I'm not in favor of adding them. Based on all the prior discussions on this topic.
