On Highway 9, 1 mile south of Alma, turn west onto Mosquito Gulch Road. Drive 6.8 miles to a point where the road turns left and crosses Mosquito Creek before climbing up toward Mosquito Pass. There's parking 0.1 mile after the left turn.

From the 2WD parking area, near 11,560', continue up Mosquito Pass road ( 1) to reach the North London Mine - 2. Pass the mine and continue up the rough road ( 3) to reach the 12,650-foot saddle between London Mountain (left) and Kuss Peak (right) - 4.

Turn left (east) and follow a trail up London's west ridge ( 5) to reach a rock tower - 6. Ascend nearly to the top of this formation before bypassing the last section, on the right. Reach another rock tower ( 8) and, again, ascend part of it and look for an easy bypass on the right - 9. It really isn't as difficult as it may appear in the photos and it's easy to keep the difficulty at Class 2.

Past the crux sections, hiking is easier; Stay on or just right of the ridge crest - 10 and 11. When you reach 13,000', the summit is visible but still nearly 0.5 mile away - 12. Continue along the ridge ( 13) and up a final pitch ( 14) to reach the summit - 15. 16 looks back over the ridge.
