Mt. Sherman - via Leavick - Spring Snow
Kansas Boarder told of a long walk and rightly so. Lots of miles, lots of snow and lots of signs of Spring to come under a warm sun on a bluebird day. Boots to Leavick, snowshoes to the Hilltop Mine, boots to the summit and return. A whumpf to keep everyone alert, careful route selection and still air on the summit (of Sherman?). Perhaps 100 yards of weight supporting snow over the whole distance. A nine plus hour climb, including the extra six miles of approach/retreat provided courtesy of a section of drifted road. Thanks to the BMW crew for the inbound ruts and KSBoarder for the mile of track leading to Leavick . . . much appreciated on both fronts.
