 Denny Creek in Spring
Hiked Mt. Yale today (5/19/06) with Colorado Guy. We hit the trailhead at about 5:30am, and we really did not run into any significant amount of snow until just below timberline. Then there were a view patches of postholing. Gaiters are a must, but snowshoes are unneccessary.

We started our decent from the summit at about 11:30am with a view of a small storm brewing on Mt. Huron. The storm quickly grew, and before long we were enveloped in gropple, thunder and lightning. We had to abandon the trail and make for the trees ASAP. We arrived back at the car at about 2:30.

The temperatures felt more like July than May. You can see a pictorial at the following link: http://coloradoguy.com/mt-yale.htm.
