Bierstadt to Blue Sky via Sawtooth

Knocked out Bierstadt and Blue Sky this morning. Beautiful day and got off the mountain before the weather turned.

For those considering this route - it has everything you might want from a challenging day in the mountains. I probably underestimated the time it took (6h45m RT) and the amount of scrambling (basically from summit of Bierstadt to Blue Sky). The route description and photos on this website are incredibly accurate and helpful. Two things to note: 1. the GPX file on the website takes you off-trail on the descent from Blue Sky to the steep gully. There is a trail that deviates north a bit then runs parallel to the GPX route to the gully that would limit our trampling the habitat. 2. Once out of the gully, you end up in a marsh. Perhaps there has been more rain up there than down in Denver. Be prepared for ankle deep mud and soggy socks.
