10/2/05 from Gemini, west slopes descent
My plan for the day was to climb Dyer Mountain and Gemini Pk, some centennial 13ers by Mt. Sherman, from Upper Iowa Gulch TH near Leadville. We climbed Dyer, and once we were atop Gemini, we decided it would be easiest to return to the TH by going over Mt. Sherman and descending its west slopes route that starts at the Sherman-Sheridan saddle. This wonderful trail is in great shape. Only a little bit of snow near the top of Sherman. If you are looking for a nice, relatively short 14er hike for the fall, check this one out.
