Saturday, August 21, 2021 - My second ascent of Sherman (first time was in 2017) and first ascent of Sheridan.
I parked about 2/10ths of a mile below the gate, and began my hike at 7:52 AM. When you reach the saddle, Sheridan is on the left and Sherman is on the right. Both look horribly steep.
I headed first for 13,748' Mount Sheridan. I was alone most of the way up but a couple young guys caught up to me at the summit. I reached the top of Sheridan at 10:28. The first cairn is the actual summit, and there's a little register box with paper and pencil. There's a rock shelter a few hundred yards to the west with more views from that side of the mountain.
After descending Sheridan the crowd on Sherman was mostly down or coming down, so crowds were thinned. Sleet threatened briefly on my way up Mt. Sherman. The wind was strong and cold on the saddle and Sherman's ridge. I reached the summit of Sherman at 1:00, and had a little lunch.. There is no official U.S. Geological summit marker, but there are registration tubes on Sherman.

I got back down to my car shortly after 3:00. The whole adventure was a little over seven hours.
