 Since Sopris...

Injuries suck!*

Late last spring I underwent ankle surgery... & watched my offseason hiking plans dissolve. I had no idea what type of return to ANY of my favorite activities I could expect! When weeks of missing work - turned into weeks of working with braces - turned into the eve of my 1st trip back up a Colorado big boy! The return started slow... then built on itself... I wasn't going to let this second chance at a fun summer pass me by!!!*

*The disclaimer: Facebook can suck you in!! Even South Park pointed this out seasons ago! The albums I've already created can be most easily accessed through the convenience of this website though... for this; I apologize! I chose the list of 10 based on my favorite unique routes, interesting adventures, or less reported-on peaks... every journey I had into the backcountry this summer & fall were truly wonderful experiences!!! My hope is to inform &OR entertain other mountain addicts with examples of good times up in the mountains! There was a forum topic this summer regarding having a bad season... I didn't post to that one.

With any luck some of the above information was useful... just don't forget to keep punching in the numbers... 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. Feel free to leave me comments if you need more info on a route, hate FB & everything it stands for, or have the current whereabouts of the smoke monster. Don't be surprised if this TR changes as I hope to add pictures and beta as needed... oh & looking at the clock - Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm very thankful I've been allowed to continue enjoying the things I love!

How was it from that approach? What was the crux?

The C2 Couloir was definitely the most dangerous section of the route (some loose rocks + confined couloir). The most difficult climbing (IMO) was on the high traverse between EP & Blanca. That isn’t to say the terrain NW of EP didn’t also have its challenges. This was a fun & beautiful route! Very recommended!! Thanks geojed for writing up this route!!!
