 Bells Traverse: North > South
I did the Bells traverse the other day with my wife and took way too many photos. This should give a good idea of the current conditions, which couldn't be better, and I've put together a description and report of our experience. The shear beauty and grandeur of these mountains never ceases to amaze me. I've been thinking about doing this route for the last year and had a ton of fun and recommend the the N > S option. Here is the link to my report.

Also, added a trip report of Pyramid which we did the next day.

Very helpful. Glad to see the weather has finally cleared up.(It nixed our attempt at the Crestones traverse just the week before.)
Yeah; that descent off of Maroon seems to go on forever...

you enjoyed the pics. We also were going to try this a week earlier and it is nice the monsoon is finally letting up. Of course the weather seems to be pushed back a month or two this year, so hopefully Sept. will be awesome...I told by friend I would do the traverse again with him if he could magically transport me down Maroon.

Hope you have a fun and safe climb. I'm hoping to get the Crestones knocked out this weekend but my wife is putting the kabosh on the traverse since I'll probably be solo...

Enjoyable and useful review

So, you found 30m to be sufficient/appropriate for the two rappels you chose to make? Would it have also been the right length for the third rapellable pitch you decided to just descend untethered?

Also, how many slings/biners would you have needed if none of what you found were in useable condition?

30m

should be more than sufficient for all three rappels. Would suggest bringing 30'-40' of webbing and 2 or 3 rap rings so you can replace old frayed ones if need be. Maybe slightly more if all are in bad shape.
