 Snowmass Epiphany
On 7/14/2012, I took a couple buddies up Snowmass West slopes. This was one friend's first successful summit of a 14er, and my other friend happens to own a video production company.

On Friday we drove from Woodland Park to the trailhead outside of Marble. We then hiked in to Little Gem Lake which had a tremendous campsite just past the lake. The site also gave us a great view to scope out the route.

The next morning we trudged up the route, which arguably had a few class four moves right next to the green patch of grass. We made the summit by about 10:30am.

We stayed at our campsite another night and hiked around Siberia Lake the next day.

Check out the video link.

Really nicely produced video! That was really inspiring to watch, and it made me insanely jealous of the camera. =p

I'm thinking about heading up this route next week. I know the road up is ”rough” but I have a lifted '97 4-runner. Think I can make it all the way?

You can probably sell it to REI for a commercial (Do they sell the products seen in the video?)

Makes my lame ass TRs look pretty lame ass.

I think a 97 4-runner would make it without issue. Having a nice, tight turn radius is one of the keys to the road though. Lots of tight and mildly steep switchbacks.
