4/29/2018 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 4/30/2018, By: BillMiddlebrook Info: The couloir is in excellent condition. After parking 1/2 mile below the Leavick mine, we walked up part of the Fourmile road and skinned other parts until we reach the turn-off (left) for Horseshoe. From there we skinned to the base of Boudoir and booted to the summit. A few inches of snow had fallen the night before so we had a fresh powder coat |

11/11/2017 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 11/13/2017, By: wildlobo71 Info: Route from 4-mile creek road turnoff clear and passable the entire way to summit without traction or need for any gear. Small snowfield crossings at shaded areas below treeline (on the road) and in the basin otherwise it's wind bare for much of the approach to the saddle of Peerless and only gets into hardpack snow by about 13,000'. The summit approach is visible, snow filled but easily navigable. Side summits - Peerless Mountain is fairly clean on the west slopes, easy approach. Finnback Knob from Horseshoe saddle is slightly more spicy - snow filled the ridgeline proper and created some more exciting things to ponder but was not a problem; I didn't use traction just a little more time navigating around snow filled obstacles. The south rim of Horseshoe towards the Boudoir exit and then further south and east was a wind-bare / hard pack mix that no traction was necessary on. Traction was helpful in descending back from the saddle down to the lower basin. |

10/20/2017 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 10/20/2017, By: Ptglhs Info: A lot of snow between Sheridan and Peerless, spots of wind polished snow between peerless and the false summit of Horseshoe. I highly recommend either microspikes or an axe. It was incredibly windy up there. The false summit has a 4-5 foot cornice of snow that I broke down a part of. |

6/25/2017 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/25/2017, By: Bombay2Boulder Info: The trail still has some snow patches, but you can totally bypass them. I used no traction. However, if you are planning on driving till 13,200 you will be stopped way short due to the snow on the road. Boudoir Couloir is done for the season. No continuous snow lines on the whole face. |

5/5/2017 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 5/5/2017, By: josee menard Info: Trailhead about .75 mile before Leavick's parking area. Good travel on firm snow early morning. Couloir had stable boot-top wind affected snow. Lots of sled tracks in the basin to assist on the way out in the afternoon, snowpack retained some integrity in the afternoon but more hot days and/or superficial freezes and snowshoes will be required. |

4/15/2017 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 4/15/2017, By: koeffling Info: The approach on the road was largely snow covered, softened as the day ended making for a slog out. The approach to the cirque was solid enough to hold us in the morning without snowshoes. Snow in the couloir is not great, a bit early yet. Bottom third was nicely consolidated, the top was a mix of sugar/powder, some slabs, and some decent stuff. |

8/11/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 8/15/2016, By: flyingmagpie Info: Entire 4wd road is free of snow all the way up to the Horseshoe/Peerless saddle. The route beyond is clear of snow as well. If, instead of turning on the little two-track road shown in the route photos, you continue up the main road (FS603) there is a parking area to the right that will accommodate 5 or 6 vehicles right around a corner from where the route description here comes out onto the main road again. Road is in surprisingly good shape for an old mining road, and driveable by stock 4wd high clearance vehicles. |

6/25/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/26/2016, By: sdicenso Info: The road is clear to the 4WD parking. Past there at the left fork there are big snowfields, but minimal postholing. If you go right at the fork and up the steeper route, you won't encounter snowfields until past the upper lake. All snowfields are passable. Some postholing to the saddle, but clear after that to the summit. |

6/19/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/19/2016, By: jsdratm Info: There are still some lingering snowfields on the way to the saddle (I counted 4 small ones that I had to cross), but once you are on the saddle you can get to the summit without touching snow. The trail to Peerless is also clear of snow. |

6/16/2016 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/17/2016, By: bparker10 Info: A friend and I set off to do the Boudoir couloir on horseshoe, but upon arrival we noticed it's now out of season. Snow in the couloir does not reach the bottom |

6/13/2016 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/13/2016, By: jbchalk Info: We climbed & skied the Boudoir Saturday (6/11). Would have been nice to get it an hour or so earlier, but you surely can't ask the babysitter to come over at 5am. I would think Boudoir will definitely not be continuous come this weekend. The bottom was barely skiable with rocks coming up to bite your skis. Good thing I haven't waxed nor given the bottom of my skis any attention since I first got them. The crux chokes were absolutely fine and skiable with good snow. |

6/7/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/7/2016, By: mike14 Info: Went up the standard route today. Snow was intermittent on the old road up. The snow was soft but easily traversed. I only post holed a couple of times. No need for traction or floatation. Knocked out Peerless too. Went up the north side where I had to deal with some talus and steep snow, but only for short distances. Came down the south side and easily went up Horseshoe. Snow is melting quickly- lots of running water and mud on the way down. |

6/4/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/4/2016, By: Trotter Info: Walked over from Peerless Mtn. With some detours, you can avoid most of the snow until the summit ridge. Summit is covered with snow, but it was still crusty at 9 am and required no snowshoes. The snow lower down on the route was soft after 9 am. Some good glissading from the saddle of Horseshoe and peerless. |

6/4/2016 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/6/2016, By: Shattuck311 Info: Skinned up the East Slopes. Had to take off the ski's a few times as the snow has melted out significantly in the last week. The Couloir was still in good shape, holding enough snow to easily ski. Was able to make it down to the Lakes below the gully before putting the ski's on our backs again for the remaining 2 or 3 miles back to Leavick site. |
