6/23/2026 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/25/2026, By: climbingyogi Info: Hiked Horseshoe -> Peerless -> Mt. Sheridan. Everything's dry - no surprise there I'm sure. Really just wanted to show off some photos of my 9 y/o pup we rescued last year who hiked her first 13ers this week :) |

5/31/2026 Route: Southeast Slope Posted On: 5/31/2026, By: jfm3 Info: I climbed Horseshoe from Four Mile Creek via the southeast slope on May 31. My initial plan was to climb the Boudoir Couloir but there isn't enough snow left to climb that route. The snow coverage on the southeast slope is still great. The approach to the bottom of the slope is dry. The snow starts at ~12,300' and goes all the way to the summit ridge at 13,900'. I started climbing the snow at ~8:30 AM and got to the top about 90 minutes later. The snow was mostly supportive but I did punch through up to my knees in a few places. I used hybrid boots/crampons and 2 ice axes (I like 2 axes to have a point of contact with both hands) and had excellent point sticks all the way up. The snow had a slightly wet top layer in a few places. The descent via the east slopes is dry. |

5/24/2026 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 5/25/2026, By: benopp Info: Snow totally avoidable (summer conditions). With Sheridan (some snow at saddle), Peerless, and a bonus evening detour to Finnback Knob, because the weather turned great. Yes, I went solo and started about 2:40 pm. Graupel did accumulate, but no thunder. Made it back just after sunset, but never used my headlamp. Had many layers with me and winter gloves were used. |

4/11/2026 Route: From Weston pass Posted On: 4/11/2026, By: MMAfightingClimber Info: Basically summer conditions. Windy, snowy and chilly today. Went up Weston and Ptarmigan peak, over to horseshoe, down to Finnback Knobb down to the road and back up to the top of the pass! |

4/2/2026 Route: Southest Slopes Posted On: 4/3/2026, By: 14er101 Info: Evening ascent of the standard route and ski descent of the SE Slopes. A bit wind slabby, but skied from the summit to 12300' without problem. Attaching photos of Boudoir and Sherman area. |

3/29/2026 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 3/30/2026, By: GSODJA Info: We hiked the loop from Mt. Sheridan, Peerless Mt., Horseshoe Mt, and Finnback Knob. Descended Horseshoe Mt East slopes route. A few snowfields on entire route, most avoidable. Largest snowfield was heading up Sheridan. Brought mircospikes but did not use. Early summer conditions. |

2/7/2026 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 2/7/2026, By: d_baker Info: As Trotter mentions in his TH update for Fourmile Creek, there's an ice flow that has overtaken the road and has run down the road for a decent "short" stretch. Going in, the flow on the right side has ruts. On the left, it is still smooth and felt safe to drive on. Someone damaged their undercarriage yesterday/last night driving in, using the ruts. In smaller SUV type vehicle. (They told my friend about their damage when he came in to meet us and were waiting for a tow) We parked at the standard winter parking and walked from there. Someone passed us in an Envoy or Blazer or something similar on uphill side of Leavick Mine. My main concern driving up the road in current conditions would be meeting another vehicle. Someone will need to pullover and chance not getting stuck, or backup to a good spot. But only in some stretches. Anyway, the added miles of road walk wasn't bad and we earned the "winter" 13er ascent just a scooch more...lol Didn't bring or need snowshoes. Didn't use traction. Postholed in two sections for short distance once on road leading to Horsehoe Gulch. Stayed on some of the upper roads on N side once into Horseshoe Gulch, as they had less snow. Crossed one snow-filled gully/slope but was managed fine with boots and poles with today's snow conditions. We aimed closer to Peerless side of the saddle with Horseshoe, to avoid snow. Was on mostly dry ground most of day on the mountain. Despite windchill from steady high-teens mph wind (guessing at wind speed), it was a great day out in the sunshine! A good day for face to be covered and for goggles (for me anyway). Watch says 10.7 miles and at summit I had something like 3600' gain, but back at vehicles it showed well over 4000' gain which doesn't seem right to me. 6.5hrs total time. |

6/10/2025 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/11/2025, By: xDoogiex Info: Car made it up to the big snowdrifts blocking the road. I only wore my micro spikes on those. You can avoid them after the first one if you take the old road off of the 4wd road after the first one. There are still several snowfields and 2 are at the turning points of switchbacks. They were easy to cross up but deff postholed coming down. Once on the ridge you can avoid all snow on horseshoe and peerless. beautiful day and I was the only one on the peak. I had the second signature of the month. |

6/1/2025 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/1/2025, By: Nathan Hoobler Info: Bottom third was soft, many exposed rocks. Top ⅔ was ideal. Another party after us turned back due to poor conditions and rockfall. Pushed through 2 snow drifts with the Suburban. Stopped at the third. Probably made it ⅓ mile from the turnoff from Four Mile Creek Road. |

5/31/2025 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 5/31/2025, By: Athiel Info: Quite a few lengthy snowfields still present across the basin to the saddle- and a few snow drifts on the road up. Easy saddle to summit, mostly avoidable. Peerless is a clear walk up saddle to sunmit. Still lots of snow (and steep) getting to Finnback Knob. There’s cornice on the ridge, but easily avoidable. Early start avoided most of the surely miserable postholing. Boudoir looked like it was sparse at the bottom as well. |

5/24/2025 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 5/25/2025, By: GavinP537 Info: Summited at 10AM and snow was getting very soft at some parts of the couloir similar to what MidsizeAl said. Might need flotation on the way down, we were post holing quite often. |

5/24/2025 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 5/24/2025, By: MidsizeAl Info: Snow conditions were great this morning, though things got warm very quickly. Keep an eye out for rockfall. Summited around 7AM behind one other party. This was my first couloir and it was a blast. I’d recommend it to anyone as their first, but do it soon! Tagged Peerless and Sheridan on the way out. |

5/23/2025 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 5/25/2025, By: gooutlandish Info: Started late which didn't help as the day progressed and the snow softened, but flotation up the standard route is super necessary - kept postholing with a few instances so bad I had to dig my feet out because of how far down I sunk (this was with crampons + trekking poles w/ snow baskets). Not an issue once you make it up to the saddle for Peerless or Horseshoe, but the road you hike up/follow on the East Slopes route is completely gone under snow in some parts still. |

5/11/2025 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 5/11/2025, By: JerJerBinks Info: My bro and I spent the morning on Horseshoe today. Group of two in front of us broke and descended the ridge so we never caught up to them. Gracias. No snowshoes needed on the way in and mild mashed potatoes on the way out. Very small slide near the cliffs obviously caused by rockfall. All seemed cohesive to me. Good coverage in the couloir and surrounding area. Patchy lower. Pretty thick drift blocks the way to upper TH, but I'll bet it gets punched through in a week. |
