Info: Alternating snow and dry sections on the ascent from Loveland Pass. With the impending weather & the wet avalanche concerns I started at sunrise. After hanging out on the summit for a good 1/2 hour I made moves to beat the weather on nearly bulletproof snow. Some creativity was needed to link the patches into the wave. At the bottom of the first section I made the decision to traverse to Sleeper's 2 Chute (mellower) due to the firm conditions I'd found so far.

Info: We parked on Loveland Pass and skinned the standard hiking route to the top. We were able to skin all but one short section on the traverse around Sniktau's false summit. Visibility was bad and the winds were howling on the final ridge to the top. The skiing down Dave's Wave was good powdery snow up high, although the leeward slopes below the wave looked to be loaded. We stayed on top of the wave (skier's right) because of the flat light and lack of wind loading until lower down where it turns to the skier's right. Then, we skied a steeper pitch which had about 4 to 5 inches of light, not wind affected powder on top of a crust. Below that, we skied the Ironing Board to treeline which had the same powder on crust conditions. Overall, some pretty fun and safe skiing.

Info: Good snow conditions today, spring is ready to pop! Mostly dry up to the first little peak before Cupid, then most of the route has a bit of snow and rock. Did not use microspikes at all the whole day, though they would've helped in a few places. The final ridge going up Torreys has this strange little chute filled with snow that would've been great/safe to ski though perhaps not worth dragging the skis all the way along the ridge for. The snow on top was somewhat wet by around 10 am with a hard slab underneath. Gaiters are highly recommended right now for this route. Lots of lines on neighboring peak look like they might go wonderfully in spring with a safer snowpack. The north slopes of grays was completely dry except for the north slopes route trail switchbacking up the face, which looked to have enough snow on it that it could be skied, even all the way to the summit possibly.

Info: Hike up to the ridge has intermittent snow. Wind today was sustained in the 30-40mph range but not as bad as sometimes it can get. I embraced it under all my layers. Incredible how the wind has scoured everything the last 200 feet or so before the top of the ridge. From there I hiked a little bit towards the second false summit towards Sniktau. Cornices are present and trail is in some places bare and in some has some wind blown snow. I then turned around and headed towards Cupid. Crossing the ridge and heading down was very windy but little snow to cross on the trail. I did wear my snowshoes the entire time but microspikes would have also worked. I did not go past Cupid. Abasin was bombing for avalanche and I saw the avalanche on Mt. Trelease from last week. Very sad to see.

Info: Narrow ~3-6 in deep snow drifts for the initial .75mi made low-boot gaiters worthwhile. Spikes recommended but not necessary. Max gust at the Loveland Pass sensor (https://www.avalanche.state.co.us/observations/weather-stations/) was only ~25mph so wind was not an issue. Route was extremely easy to follow during saddle & ascent to Cupid after Sniktau - Cupid/Grizzly 'T'. Peak exists on rockpile just E of trail. Snow obscured the route back to Loveland Pass, worth double checking which spur to descend on return.

Info: Good day up there! Minimalistic snow overnight. Did not wear traction on the way up, snowshoes were EXTREMELY helpful for traction on the way down, since the snow is packed down it got a bit slippery. There is still a lot of dirt poking through. Was windy today, but sunny. Very good conditions for now.

Info: 99% dry from the pass, traction never needed. The trail was in good condition as always, the shortcut was very nice on the way up.

Info: A couple of easy snowfields to cross to reach the ridge from Loveland Pass. 95% of trail is dry.From the ridge, snow is avoidable most of the time to reach the summit of Cupid. It is still winter at the top and snow is firm from wind that always batters the CD.

Info: Cloudy and sunny today with gentle wind... Route up to saddle has some fresh snow on it but not much. I had spikes the whole time and felt fine. From saddle to Cupid almost snow free.

Info: Trail from Loveland Pass up the ridge is quite wind blown. Not much snow. From the ridge to Cupid amost 80% snow free with the occasional windblown deep snow that you can sink in but easily avoidable. Stopped at Cupid Summit because there are a couple of big cornices already formed on the way to Grizzly that did not look too appealing. It was a quiet day and finally winds were calmer than in the past two months.

Info: Trail up to Loveland Ridge was almost 89% snow free as mentioned in latest report from 2 days ago. No traction needed.Wind was ferocious up on the ridge (even though forecast was 20mph) and tI urned around because I physically could not move forward and stand up strong enough whilre sustained gusts from all sides were howling. From where I turned around, the trail up to Cupid looked like in great shape and not snow covered.

Info: Made it to cupid was planning for grizzly but when we got to the traverse over the winds picked up to 30mph sustained dont know what the gusts were. Pretty miserable. But still a beautiful day. Oxymoron right? Either way we didnt need any traction even after the snow fall no traction. If you decide to cut across the summer route traction would be helpful in some areas and snow fields we postholed. However they were small and far between we just trekked on. The snow settled down when we were leaving adding maybe 2 inches to the trail. Super easy. We just didnt do grizzly because of the white out conditions but the few seconds of the trail we saw were the exact same.

Info: Skied the east face of Cupid from Grizzly Gulch as a consolation prize to the Tuning Fork after encountering gear (crampon) issues on the latter. Very impressive amount of snow for late June - continuous from near treeline to the summit. Skins would have been useful for much of the ascent, but made do without. Fun, albeit short, ski line on E/SE aspect of Cupid, followed by low-angle bowl that empties into Grizzly Gulch. Conditions were good in the upper 1000' or so, but getting suncupped farther down into Grizzly Gulch.

Info: A few patches of snow. Microspikes not really necessary. Postholing is a real concern on the way back, as I got a leg stuck in the snow and had to dig out. One snowfield I didn't want to climb up on the way back from Grizzly to Cupid. It was very steep and probably somewhat soft. I stayed further west on some Class 2 talus. Very windy and cold. Take winter clothing.

Info: Hiked Cupid via Loveland Pass on Sunday 4/7. Showed up to the trailhead around 9:30 and the parking was completely full of tourists, other hikers, and skiers. To be fair, it was an absolutely beautiful day to be outside. We hiked along the ridge & did just fine in spikes. One or two people had snowshoes but it really wasn't necessary, especially considering there was a lot of parts already that didn't have snow on them. Crossing the ridge line was super windy but the peak wasn't bad at all (not sure if it's less exposed?). He views from the top of Cupid are absolutely amazing! Great views of Breckenridge, Greys/Torreys & Grizzly peak. We wanted to go over to Grizzly but it looked unsafe (avalanche reasons). Overall, this was a super beautiful hike & I highly recommend it!
