7/26/2020 Route: From Parry Posted On: 7/27/2020, By: CaptainSuburbia Info: Went from Loch Lomond over Bancroft, Parry and Eva. Route is clear. 4WD is needed to get to Loch. Both gates are open. Saw 20 some trucks/suv's up there and one Outback. Lots of cars parked below gates and people walking 2.3 miles up. Didn't see anyone else on peaks though. Bancroft is still skiable with some nice turns possible. Saw a couple of skiers walking the road on my way out. |

5/13/2020 Route: Berthoud Pass - School of Mines Peak - Flora - Eva Posted On: 5/14/2020, By: HikesInGeologicTime Info: Used the road to School of Mines Peak both ways. Continuous snow until treeline; mostly dry with avoidable patches from there on. Not much of a trail after Flora, but the route is well-marked with cairns and is fairly obvious anyway - stay on or near the ridge. Anyone else who hasn't been hiking at altitude in a while might want to note that the slope between the northernmost of Flora's subsummits and the saddle poses no technical difficulties, but it is steep, and the drop felt longer to me than it appeared to be whenever I've looked at it from 40. Snow was firm in the morning and a slopfest in the afternoon. If you do go back up to School of Mines, however, you're only dealing with it for a short enough stretch that snowshoes probably aren't worth the added weight. |

The route is very obvious but you'll have to be careful descending to the saddle so you don't slip and tumble. |

4/25/2018 Route: SE Face Posted On: 4/25/2018, By: madadraw1 Info: Started from junction of Fall River Rd/Rainbow Rd. Able to skin from the start w/ new snow last night. At end of day last 1/2 mi completed melted out. If skiing Eva Bowl, could get some nice turns but as flatten outs lots of rocks and would have to veer to skiers left. I skied down SE face from 12.8K feet on the ridge. Then took hard left to enter South facing couloir given I was seeing no slabs despite the recent snow. There must have not been much wind here. There was 5-6 inches of new snow consistently throughout my day. There was a naturally released Avy on quite steep North face above Sherwin Lake. But, this area was quite rocky and while it was far away, looked like it broke at new/old snow surface. Probably triggered by warmth from lots of exposed rocks. |

The Southeast Face has an fracture line showing where heavy snow slid and triggered a slide into a deeper layer. The South Slopes to the summit are dry. |
