Info: Was still almost entirely dry as of Saturday morning. A bit of snow here and there but very minimal and easily avoidable. Probably changed with the weekend storm.

Info: Some snow left on east/northeast facing slopes as of mid-afternoon, mostly avoidable except for a brief section just below the 13,200' false summit.

Info: The "trailhead" is just a switchback on the road, where the Forest Service closed off an old road and is trying to restore it. Decent trail into the basin following this disused road, but a lot of water crossings. After the road ends in the basin, I had a ton of willowbashing to contend with, and it was an absolute suck fest. Once through the willows, easy to get to the saddle between Hoosier Ridge and Red Mtn C. Because of the willows, I decided to add ~100 feet of gain by going over Red Peak A (unranked summit, different from Red Mtn C) and descended its East ridge to another disued 4WD road, and followed that back to my car. Made a nice loop. The road was rough in spots, but mostly a pretty easy drive. A Forester might be able to do it without too much difficulty. Only room for one car at the switchback where the old road up Pennsylvania Creek starts, room for 2-3 more at the next switchback up. Nice camping along the road.

Info: Snow on the road is effectively gone, and there are only a couple small, easily avoided snowfields around the willows. Didn't feel like fighting the heavy ridgeline winds, so didn't summit today (stopped just below Pt. 12800). But it looked clear to Hoosier, certainly on the West side of the ridge. Snow still fills the SW-facing chute that is partway between the Hoosier-Red col and Red Mountain C all the way to the ridgeline.

Info: patchy snow from hoosier pass to around 12,000'. snow is very firm in the morning, a little questionable by early afternoon.

Info: Started around 6 am. Snow coverage presently extends to tree line at 11,800. Good freeze allowed for an easy ascent. After that minimal snow coverage existed all the way along the ridge to the summit minus a few strips that can be easily bypassed. By the time I got back to the snowline, the crust was melted enough that one could posthole easily to the hips. Snowshoes are a must once the crust is gone.

Info: Floatation required from Hoosier Pass until just above tree line although there were quite a few people in the area packing down tracks. Ridge was windblown and even completely dry in some places from this point until the summit. Although there was occasional short sections of postholing it was easier to stash snowshoes and push through than it would have been to carry them then put on and take off repeatedly. Added Red Mtn. C which had more snow but was consolidated and did not need floatation here. Great sunny day with sections of gusty wind.

Info: We completed the Ridge hike. We missed the trail marker where we should have left the gravel road, so we ended up scrambling up through the grass up the side of the first ridge for the first ascent up to beginning of the ridge part. Windy on the ridges and on most of the smaller peaks along the way. Otherwise summer conditions (no snow to cross). It was as long as advertised, and the endless smaller peaks (bumps) did cause us to reconsider whether to continue a few times, but we made it to Hoosier Peak. Great view along the way, and the ups and downs along the way were definitely a change from some of the bigger 14ers we have done. I recommend this hike!

Info: Summer conditions all the way to the summit. Just be ready for an endless stream of bumps. Red Mountain C has some snow on the ridge, not sure if it could be bypassed, bailed on it due to weather
