It was a little windy from the treeline on up, but sunny most of the day. All of the route was clear of snow. There was a small amount of water on the trough but avoidable. A little more water on the home stretch and mostly avoidable. Storms formed at around 12:30pm and some rain and small amount of hail fell. Not sure if any fell after. Overall great conditions. |

7/24/2018 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 7/24/2018, By: Scott Conro Info: Would love to see a report from someone who continued past the Keyhole today. The trail had some remnants of the hail storm from yesterday. Probably gone by now. Turned around at the Keyhole after slipping my way up the slick and slippery granite about 30 feet. Finally found an issue with my Brooks trail runners! Time for some new footwear. The ledges had snow everywhere, but I think with the right footwear a safe Summit possible with care on this tricky day. |

7/15/2018 Route: NW Gully Posted On: 7/19/2018, By: Eagle Eye Info: A bad weather day with FAR less people on Longs. The NW Gully's crux area was not frozen but did have a little bit of water draining down it. Higher up the Keyhole Ridge had thin ice on it. I returned on the Keyhole Route finding the Homestretch a little slippery also. Much slower going on this day. |

7/14/2018 Route: Loft Route Posted On: 7/14/2018, By: Hucksley Info: You'd be better off not even looking at the route description for this climb as it's either outdated or poorly composed. Summer conditions, luckily, but this route and/or the description featured on the .com need serious updating. "Heavily cairned?" Not in the slightest. Luckily we summited in spite of it but exercise caution when attempting this route without someone that's done it before. Otherwise, a ton of fun and avoiding the Everest-level lines on the Keyhole is always a plus! |

7/11/2018 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 7/12/2018, By: arobenhymer Info: All sections clear of snow and ice. Clouds started to build at 3:00pm, but stayed north. Black bear sighting in the boulder field, but just passed through. 12 hour round trip time at a comfortable pace. |

7/10/2018 Route: Loft Route Posted On: 7/10/2018, By: emily_m Info: Summer conditions, as stated by others. There are some avoidable or off route snow patches that are melting and causing the route to be wet and slippery in a number of places, especially in the couloirs. These wet patches and puddles can be avoided for the most part, but may make things a little interesting at times. Mindful route planning can avoid these sections without increasing the difficulty by much. |

7/10/2018 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 7/10/2018, By: Scott Conro Info: Route in summer conditions. A little water toward the end of the Narrows. Homestretch has some water running down the last 200ft or so. It won't be an issue for a mindful climber. |

7/7/2018 Route: Kiener's Route Posted On: 7/7/2018, By: Aphelion Info: Lamb's slide is getting pretty soft and sloppy, will probably be little more than the ice layer in a few weeks. Route otherwise snow-free, though a bit wet in places. |

7/4/2018 Route: Loft Route Posted On: 7/4/2018, By: johntmv Info: The Loft Route is running at summer conditions. There are some snowfields still present in the Loft Couloir, but these can be easily avoided with simple route-finding. All snow within Keplinger's Couloir can be avoided as well! The photo shows the Loft Route, directly left of center. |

6/23/2018 Route: Kieners Posted On: 6/24/2018, By: Kevin Baker Info: Firm snow on approach up Lamb's Slide (no ice), snow on Broadway can be avoided. Any snow on Kiener's can be easily avoided. |

6/23/2018 Route: North Face\\Cables Posted On: 6/23/2018, By: RyGuy Info: No snow on the trail up to the Boulder Field. As you head up to Chasm View, there are several decent snowfields to get through. We brought crampons and ice tools, and they were quite helpful. At the start of the Cables route, quite a bit of ice/verglass on the route. Kept Crampons on and certainly needed them. Also pulled out the ice tool a couple times to get some grip in an otherwise wet/icy area. Above the Cables, patchy snow to the summit. Wore crampons all the way to the summit, but probably wouldn't need them for the top section. We then descended to the Loft and went up Meeker. There was some snow to contend with on the area near the Palisades. Photos: 1. Longs from below the Boulder Field 2. Looking across Broadway at Lambs Slide. 3. Looking down at the crux area from the top of the Cables 4. Looking over at the Palisades from below the Homestretch. Some snow to deal with if you come up from the Loft. |

6/22/2018 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 6/23/2018, By: adventurejustin Info: Hiked up to boulder field 6/21 night. Set up camp around 10:30pm. Got up at 5:20am to watch sunrise. Started up via the keyhole route at 6:19am. Radar was completely clear, perfect day! Normal winds (20mph with probably 40mph gusts). Occasional snow flurries, no accumulation. Took lots of breaks and pictures of people I met along the way. Some clear ice along the narrows but very easy to avoid. Spikes not necessary. Summited around 9am. |

6/22/2018 Route: NW Gully Posted On: 6/22/2018, By: Monster5 Info: Up NW Gully (Knight's or Chessman's Couloir) and down Keyhole. NW Gully: No significant snow. A little bit of ice and storm squall snow at the crux. Went through the hole. Keyhole: Light, quickly melting storm sleet on the upper few hundred feet. Not a big deal if you take your time. While certainly not needed, some might appreciate microspikes for comfort. No other snow on route. Trails are dry. |

6/16/2018 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 6/25/2018, By: jemthebrewer Info: A very warm day, I wore a T-shirt all the way to Chasm Lake junction, then just a wind layer on top of that. Summer conditions, light winds, small patches of snow easily avoided. On the way down, it got much colder and rainy. Not too many people on the summit, good day overall in the mountains. |
