9/9/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 9/12/2024, By: jemthebrewer Info: Summited today (my 10th time on the summit of Longs!) on an excellent morning to be on the peak! Got to the trailhead at ~3AM and I was approached by a gentleman by the name of, "Bob," who asked if I was familiar with the route? I told him, "yes, I am," so he asked if he could tag along and I was happy to oblige. Bob did a great job on his first summit, although he was a bit confounded by the move at the top of the Trough (I usually go straight up and he traversed over on the climber's left). Anyway, the rock was dry, the summit had little wind, and the energy of the parties going up/down was super positive. Some precipitation was rolling through after 1 PM, thankfully we were down to the Chasm Lake junction by then. |

9/8/2024 Route: Loft Route Posted On: 9/9/2024, By: drummerjohn Info: Did the Longs Grand Slam on 9/8. This includes Meeker, Longs, Pagoda, Storm and Mt Lady Washington. The rock was all dry aside from some water runoff after leaving chasm (all easily avoidable). Excellent conditions right now. |

9/5/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 9/6/2024, By: ReachingHigher Info: We did Longs today, up the Keyhole Route and down the Loft Route. Its fairly wet up there, so there was ice, but if you are aware and watching for it, it is easily avoidable. Actually, the most difficult part was a thick frost in the Boulder field this morning that made most of the rocks slippery. Thankfully that was only on the lower sections before it became steep. It was a beautiful day! |

9/2/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 9/3/2024, By: craigmatt333 Info: Absolutely perfect conditions. Dry trail and rock to the top. Camped at the Boulder field. Whether you are camping or not, Id bring a water filter. I drank a lot more water than anticipated. About 100 yards before Boulder field is lots of exposed water for your Sawyer squeeze. If getting water at the campsite you'll need a tube like filter to get at the water under the rocks (Katydyn or MSR etc). Also, for future years, Labor Day was not nearly as crowded as expected. |

8/31/2024 Route: Cabes and Loft Posted On: 9/4/2024, By: amlynczak Info: Calbes up and loft down. Beautiful weather but definitely some ice in the crux moves of the cables. Loft still in good shape but that early fall ice on the exit ramps will likely appear soon. |

8/27/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 8/27/2024, By: Laxer04 Info: some small patches of ice going up the homestretch on the left side. easily avoidable and likely melting fast. some minor ice on the ledges as well, also avoidable. |

8/23/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 8/25/2024, By: eastmanerine Info: 3:30 start, boulder field by 6, keyhole 6:45, summit 8:40. We had great weather, no ice, very few damp areas, mild wind gusts right as we crossed the keyhole on the way up, that resolved on the Ledges, rain started right as we were finishing around 1:00 |

8/20/2024 Route: Cables Posted On: 8/20/2024, By: viejo Info: Cables from North Longs Peak Trail with return down the Trough to Glacier Gorge. Area must have gotten some good rainfall Monday afternoon/evening. Some running water on the crux moves of the Cables increased the pucker factor. Likewise, moisture on the upper section of Homestretch made things a bit more slippery. Hopefully itll dry up in a couple of days. |

8/20/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 8/21/2024, By: Summit Assassin Info: Thunderstorms rolled into RMNP around 8:00pm and continued until 11:00pm, off and on. This made the more challenging and exposed sections, from the Keyhole to the summit and back, exceptionally challenging. Running water in the Homestretch made for very slick conditions. Thankfully all 5 members of our party summited and returned safely. |

8/3/2024 Route: Keyhole Route Posted On: 8/4/2024, By: IHikeLikeAGirl Info: Just a few FYI's. 1. Summer conditions. 2. Slight haze, but no issues from smoke of nearby fires, even after the wind shifted from the NE, east, and SE. 3. Longs Campground was only 2/3rds full at 5:15p on Friday. The camp hosts were awesome...and funny! 4. One cannot (legally) access the spur trail near the Longs CG. Access is on the private Timbeline CG property. We were politely, but promptly escorted off the property, when I asked them for permission the evening before. Other campers were stopped at the gate when they headed over, we made it farther. :) Note: wouldn't have saved much distance anyway. 5. Timberline CG had events until 10p (music, cheering, etc.) May want to camp away from that side. |

7/29/2024 Route: Loft Route Posted On: 7/31/2024, By: NovaDevi25 Info: Good conditions overall, snow in the Loft Couloir is easily avoided. Snowfield with some water runoff just above the crossover from Keplinger's to Homestretch that in the morning was mixed wet rock and verglas but navigable with care. Nothing but dry rock and dirt from Loft to Meeker's main summit. |
