Very windy day. Well defined packed trail with the exception of some wind-blown areas above treeline. Floatation is not necessarily but could be helpful should the trail become covered with snow (due to wind) and you happen to be the person breaking trail. I made it to the top without it and broke trail from the saddle to the summit.
