Looking for Class 3/4 partners for the final stretch

Post by Lrsnsam »

Hello!

I'm a 25 yo male from Colorado Springs looking for general hiking partners to finish out the 14ers.

I started last season and am at 39 currently. I'm pretty flexible on dates. Whether it's this season or next. I do work full time Monday-Friday but can typically sneak away early on Fridays to head to the trailhead. I have a very capable overlanding rig to help get to some of the more difficult trailheads like south colony lakes. I also work remote which gives me some flexibility on working from the trailheads before or after weekends.

I'd prefer to bang out these remaining 14ers in order of technical difficulty. I started hiking with a bad fear of heights and I've been trying to slowly push myself out of my comfort zone more and more. I do have a good amount of experience and confidence on exposed class 3 but would need some encouragement from an experienced climber/hiker to push into class 4.

Looking for partners for:
-Sunlight Peak (I chickened out just before the final summit block)
-Sneffels (Up SW Ridge, down South Slopes)
-Wetterhorn (preferably same weekend as Sneffels)
-Blanca-EP
-Little Bear
-Longs
-Wilson-El Diente Traverse
-Wilson Peak
-Crestone Peak & Needle (separately, same weekend)
-Maroon Bells (no traverse) Partner for Maroon Peak Found!
-Capitol Peak
-Snowmass (preferably early next season w/snow)
-Pyramid Partner Found!

Like I said I'm comfortable with the class 3 stuff so don't really need a more experienced partner for those, but would greatly appreciate someone with more experience to help me break into class 4. I'm open to all tips, advice, etc.

I'm pretty open for any weekend except for Aug 8-9th (doing Mt Adams & St Helens WA) and Sept 19-20 (PPM).

Update: I've just secured a partner for South Maroon and Pyramid Aug 23-24.

Hey I know this is incredibly last minute, but I’d be definitely down to climb the rest of those 14er’s with you. I’m pretty fresh to class 3’s, but I have prior climbing experience that should suffice. I was actually planning on doing Long’s this Saturday if you have any interest/availability for that. Let me know thanks

Howdy! I just saw your post - I have an extra long weekend Sept 4-7 (Labor Day weekend, it'll def be busy) and was thinking about doing LB / Blanca / Ellingwood (though no traverse, lol), and then maybe hopping on over and doing the El Diente -> Wilson traverse and then rounding out that trio! If you want company for those, I'd be down. I've done none of the Class 4 stuff, but a fair number of Class 3.

I'm Nolan - 27 y/o male from north Denver. Definitely on the slower side, but plenty of endurance and happy to be a partner for any or all of the above. Feel free to DM me!

So you're still planning to hike Wetterhorn Peak even though it's closed.....?

Nope! Change of plans.
When the fire was larger and less contained it remained open on the closure boundary. Didn't realize they ended up closing it much later after containment. Just threw some dates on there before getting details in order before my trip to WA. Thanks for the info.....
