Re: Crestone Traverse
I am looking at doing it either the last weekends of September but like the person said above, would be very interested on your prior scrambling experience.

Re: Crestone Traverse
I'd be down to join up for Crestone late September as well, whichever weekend has better weather forecast. Let me know if either of you guys are still looking at going and we can discuss past experiences. Updated my profile, but have more scramble experience from climbing and canyoneering.

Re: Crestone Traverse
I'm planning to go up to S. Colony Lake on Thursday 9/19, do the peaks Fri 9/20, and hike out Sat 9/21. Of course depending on perfect weather... Let me know!

Re: Crestone Traverse
I was looking to hit at least one of these peaks this weekend! I probably can't make it up until Friday night or Saturday, but if anyone is looking for a core weekend climb let me know. I'm open to a Broken Hand Pass or Cottonwood Creek approach. Depending on if they get significant snow, of course.

Re: Crestone Traverse
I am looking at potentially hiking in Friday and doing the Traverse on Saturday morning. Sunday looks like a no go but the Saturday afternoon forecast has me equally tempted to no go even Saturday. If the forecast remains the same, will you give it a go still?b_moar wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 11:59 am I was looking to hit at least one of these peaks this weekend! If I were hyped up enough to do the Traverse, I would definitely want a day with perfect weather. This forecast might leave enough comfort for one peak if anything. Speaking for my own preferences, of course.

Re: Crestone Traverse
Yeah, I would be comfortable going with the weather forecast if it was just for one but I'd strongly prefer the traverse so will likely hold off until next year then with this forecast :/b_moar wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 4:34 pmHey there,Briere wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 4:09 pmI am looking at potentially hiking in Friday and doing the Traverse on Saturday morning. Re: Crestone Traverse
Friday looks like the only reasonable day for the traverse this weekend imo. Definitely not Saturday, and if all the predicted moisture does actually fall, there'll be lots of pockets of ice and snow hanging out Sunday, and everything else will be soaked.Briere wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 4:09 pmI am looking at potentially hiking in Friday and doing the Traverse on Saturday morning. Window might be closing for this year, or it might dry out again and be good into early/mid October. You never know!

Re: Crestone Traverse
Exactly how I'm feeling now. I think I may have to see about taking a day off work in this case if I can find a group. Hit me up if anyone is interested!madmattd wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 7:26 pmFriday looks like the only reasonable day for the traverse this weekend imo.
