Looking for this bridge.

Post by myfeetrock »

I saw this on a facebook page I'm part of, and I was wondering if by some crazy chance any of you have been here or know the location? The guy that took the picture said he took it 20 years ago but forgot where he took it. Thanks for any info. The web has not been any help.

This is a non suspension bridge, and shorter than the one in the post.

Well, based on the plaque, it is clearly on the Johns Brook Trail somewhere in that general area. How specific do you want?

The exact trail. There are a few trails in and around the lodge. I was hoping I could find a video or pictures on google, but have had no luck. I've been able to locate some crazy stuff to.

Why don't you ask the person who posted the pic where it is?

I looked through all my pics of the Adirondacks and I don't see that exact bridge.

I'm asking for the person who posted it. He took the picture 20 years ago. While going through old pictures, he came across the photo, but could not remember the location. So he was asking for help. I did manage to locate a person that may know it. I'll give him a call Friday.

Another thought, that bridge may have been replaced after 20 years and this bridge no longer exists with that look.

You should ask these guys:

Fairly incredible amount of detailed knowledge there.

Ahhh, that in that case, I'd assume that bridge has been replaced. There has been dozens of those footbridges replaced in the last few years in the area for safety reasons.

I'll be calling a park ranger tomorrow that has been in the area for 20 plus years. I spoke to someone at the lodge that directed me to the site you posted who directed me to the man I will call tomorrow.
