Sounds like they started their descent around 7 PM Monday. Hoping for some good news.

Really hoping for a positive outcome for these boys. Our hometown 14er here in Vail is a dangerous place to be caught out in.

As I have only seen it on a Facebook comment on the 14ers FB page, take this with a grain of salt... However, it appears they have been found! Cold, but ok! This one scared me, Tommy's a really great kid.

KKTV Channel 11 is reporting that the two hikers have been found and are in good health.

Awesome! With such a late summit and bad weather, that's going to be one heck of a story!

Started their descent at 7? Certainly Darwin candidates.

Thank God. I was in the Mosquito Pass peaks area Monday and could see the northern Sawatch was already getting light snow starting at 2. Glad they made it out.

That's not unusual for this time of year. Long days are a fact of life in late fall and winter and many times climbers have summitted after sunset (including myself).

Getting lost, however, is never a good idea. They key is being prepared for long days and hiking out in the dark.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Really good news for sure!! One of the boys was the son of a women my wife knows from a church group. They were remaining optimistic given the boys backgrounds but were unsure of how well prepared they were for the weather. Obviously they were prepared enough if not physically, mentally as I am sure this became a situation where simple decisions decided a fortunate outcome. I will definitely be interested to hear the story. God Bless all involved in the search and successful rescue.
