Thanks for the info. Heard the helicopter circling this morning on our way up Maroon Peak. Spooky to hear the wap wap wap of a helicopter so early in the AM

Thank you SAR. When you think about, these are volunteers who head out in the dark and then spend the night on a saddle at 13,000' to give aid to the injured climber - they are truly special people.

Those rescue guys are rad. Think about how we prepare to climb a mtn. These guys just drop what they're doing and ascend Pyramid at essentially a moments notice. Another reason for an early start. It gives rescuers a chance to get you of the mountain before darkness.

We were on our way up maroon peak that morning and saw the helicopter going straight for Pyramid. We initially thought SAR but it came and left so fast we concluded it was training or something else. It's amazing how efficient those guys are; thanks for all that you do!!!

Happened to be hiking by and got a couple good videos of the rescue effort. Just barely missed the actual pick up of the man but got a couple good videos of the pilot making test passes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQaJDQO9RQo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:lol: Pretty sure many SAR have or have learned to have a pack ready-to-go at a moment's notice as well as a clothes duffel then gearing up on the way in (passenger) or at the TH, as even some on here have a hiking B.O.B. should last minute opportunity arise. Be interesting to know what various SAR members like to eat or pack in though. :wink:

And for smartt, fixed that for ya.
