Hard to predict, but definitely no to snowshoes. Yes maybe to traction (MicroSpikes). Hardest part is transition from left side of Spalding ridge to on top of the ridge--about half way up the ridge--1/2 mile in. The rest should be fine I think.

Did that route this morning. In my opinion a great hike! No need for snow shoes and I never pulled out my spikes. I did feel like I should have had my helmet with me on the west side of the ridge (photo #18 in the route description). Maybe I should have stayed on top of the ridge? Another climber was ahead of me on the route, maybe he will give his opinion too. I talked to some guys at the summit that had plans on skiing down. I did not stick around to watch them drop in, not sure where they were planning on doing it. Anyway, I ended up bummin' a ride back to my car at summit lake from John and katie. Thanks you guys!
