Handies peak trail from lake city

Post by nickbeger »

hello, im planning on making a night ascent up handies via the southwest slope to catch the sunrise from up top. I cant find too many good details about the route to the trailhead from lake city. Im mainly wondering how long the drive is to get to the trailhead so i can get my timing right, and if driving up AB road is doable in the dark (4wd jeep). Thanks in advance :)

As for driving in the dark, sure why not? I'd allow about 75 minutes or so from Lake City.
