I made the switch to Aleve (Naproxen) from ibuprofen too; some 2 years ago, prompted by my doctor telling me to take if for some shoulder pain. I stuck with it since, as general replacement for ibuprofen. So i typically take it to prevent muscle inflammation (rather than joint pain) when i have several bigger days in a row. Stomach issues should be better compared to ibuprofen, but i would still take with or after food. And not for too many days in row, if you can help it.Gulf_Coast_Hiker wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 8:43 am I switched to Aleve from Vitamin I years ago when running ultras. It lasts so much longer and no stomach issues.

this is slightly off-topic, as OP is specifically asking about CBD, but i'd highly recommend PEMF therapy for reducing inflammation in your joints. it's super helpful for the arthritis in my hips, having out-performed any relief i've gotten through yoga, supplements, creams, and NSAIDs.

My climbing partner (my primary care physician before he retired) recommends Arnicare:

"Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters." - Norman Maclean

I've used Arnicare as well. Worked about as well as CBD cream. Need to keep applying. Give it a shot. Maybe it'll work for you.
I've found all the topical ointments only work to a certain extent or not at all. Drugs seem to be the better option.

Eat lots more animal protein. Then you don't have the achy joints in the first place.
