CBD cream for achy joints?
I've been using ibuprofen for years for the occasional achy joints on long hikes, but I'm thinking about cutting back on the ol' vitamin I. Anyone out there tried a CBD cream instead for the general aches and pains of long hikes? If so, did you find one that seemed to work?

I switched to Aleve from Vitamin I years ago when running ultras. It lasts so much longer and no stomach issues.

Re: CBD cream for achy joints?
I tried some CBD on some aches (maybe my achilles and/or knee-IT area) but I didn't feel any benefits from it.
Physical therapy, rolling (I use an orange Trigger Point roller), and stretching has been helping me on recoveries. I also use a massage gun and try to get deep tissue massages as often as possible.
Edit: but I see you're talking/asking about during, so those things I do won't necessarily help you during your long hikes. Sorry for my confusion...

Veritas Farms full spectrum CBD lotion/salve, Penetrex cream, and Vitamin I are a good combination.

Re: CBD cream for achy joints?
I'm going to start sounding like a broken record, but the best thing I've found for aching joints is strength training, especially compound movements like squats, deadlifts, OHP. I used to ache for 3-5 days after bigger trips, now it's one day and half as bad. YMMV.

I've tried CBD creams for IT band. Its mildly effective, but not as much as Ibu. You have to keep applying it every couple hours so that's a problem. It certainly doesn't hurt. Works decently when going to sleep. Takes the edge off.
I don't get achy joints so not sure about that one. Give it a whirl and see what happens!

- I didn't say it was your fault. I said I was blaming you.

I use it here and there on my knees pre and post run if my patellar tendon is hurting. I find it helps, but it's definitely not some miracle drug that will fix all inflammation.

This is barely relevant, but I've learned that when my knee starts aching, I'm not drinking enough water. With better hydration, the aching tends to go away pretty quickly.

CBD + THC works better (50:50)
But you have to go to a pot shop.
This stuff has been working really well for me (98% arnica):

Re: CBD cream for achy joints?
After getting a recommendation by a PT for CBD cream for some sore knees I bought a couple types of cream, used them pretty often for a couple of months and noticed no difference at all. Far better results were gotten from using a foam roller, massage and stretching.

I'll add a second vote for "get stronger." Muscle can absorb nearly all the shock of exercise, but only if you have enough. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the best way to stay pain-free is by getting to know the barbell.
Re: CBD cream for achy joints?
For occasional achy joints from overdoing it, I have found “Sore No More; Warm Therapy” to be far more effective than any topical CBD product I’ve tried. For the record, I almost never use “Vitamin I” because it irritates my stomach so I’ve had to explore other options. A CBD option is also offered in addition to the original formula but I’ve not tried it: https://sorenomoreusa.com/product/origi ... -2-oz-jar/
