 Mt. Elbert 100th 14er summit

This was quite a contrast from Quandry's blizzard last weekend. Elbert had nearly perfect summer skies. Whitney was my first in 1986. I wasnt planning another this month, but the prospect of a perfect weather weekend was too tempting to pass up.
Day trip from Denver: up at 5AM, on the road at 5:30, boots on the trail just before 8AM.
Summit just before 11AM and return at 1:30PM. There was a small amount of snow left on the mountain- very easy to walk through. I think it will be all gone by July.
Nice way to bookend the first hundred- the two tallest in the lower 48.
