Mount Buckskin - NE Slopes Ascent - Loveland Mtn. Descent

An incredible October blue bird weather day, not a cloud in the sky, just a touch of wind, amongst the early season snow capped peaks of the Mosquitos, the Sawatch and the Elks.

Some FYI:
1. The road to Kite Lake was dry but for a few patches of snow, maybe all of two that were gone or slush by the mid afternoon.
2. Snow on the route ranged from a few inches to a foot or two where the winds have started to load a swale or slope. Even a touch of body weight supported wind crust on the summit ridge.

Our climb covered both Mount Buckskin summits and a descent via Loveland Mountain.

As always, H. We did those peaks many years back. Really looking forward that trip report after you return from Argentina ... that "expedition" section (where I live vicariously) of your website is growing larger, huh! Thanks for posting. Happy trails!
