Quandary Peak (East Ridge) - My 1st 14er
Uneventful ascent and descent of Quandary in June 2008. This happened about a year ago, so I'll do my best to recap, in brief.

It started out on a whim. I had never climbed a 14er before- this was to be my first attempt and first summit. We researched the route well, and picked something with relatively easy access.

Our party of 3 left Denver proper to arrive at the trailhead around 7:30 am. We were climbing in about 10 minutes- I saw this ptarmigin a little after 8. We were on the summit by 9:20- a pretty easy pace. We found the summit marker pretty easily.

I made the other 2 guys put their shirts on so we could take a more formal picture. The author is on the right.

This goat was totally "hamming" it up for the camera here.

We were back out to the car by 11:30 after a long lunch on the summit.

Sadly, this would be the last hike these two of my friends undertake a hike together as mutual friends. Since I don't have any great contributions for route or tale, I'll try and add a few pics for color.

I should be back on the summit this weekend (June 20, 2009) for a ski descent! I'll let you know how that goes...
