great route!

This route is certainly one of the better 14er climbs I‘ve done so far.
We had extra pucker factor with a mix of snow/hail/some verglas from the previous night‘s storm one late September!

congrat‘s on a classic

Looks like there‘s halfway descent rock on that route. When I climbed it back in the day it was still a wintery wonderland. I liked the cairn!

Ledge

The ledge you used near the summit avoids the crux of the route, which I felt was low 5. Nice find and great pics!

d_baker, pappy - You guys climbed this route with snow on it??
del_sur - It was frigid, definately comparable to the other lakes we've jumped in this summer.
jonno - We can always just go do it again!
doumall - That kinda sucks

How was the swim?

Last summer, Willow Lake had the warmest water of any I dared jump into.
You guys make this route look easy.
Thanks for the great pics. Consider me sold.

Benners:

Good job on your North Ridge ascent...wonderful photos.

We ran into you guys on the Avenue as you were heading to Challenger...at that first small notch just before the summit pitch. The group of 12 you mentioned arrived at the bottom of the summit pitch just as we arrived back from the summit; that‘s us you photographed on the KC summit. Note the person with the outstretched arms...I have the ”reciprocal” shot taken at 10:14 a.m.

I have one photo of you and your partner...send me a PM with an email address, and I‘ll email it to you.
