 Barr Trail to Barr Camp
6:00 a.m. start at Barr Trail. Really no snow or ice until cot-off at experimental forest. I put on the Yaktraxx at that point and pretty much walked on packed snow. Some solid ice but I really could have gotten away with no traxx up to Barr Camp. Pikes Peak was hidden by clouds until I got to Barr Camp at almost exactly 3 hours. I went 45 minutes above Barr Camp at which point I had to put the snowshoes on. Even with shoes I was breaking through and I lost the trail at that point due to other tracks ending. Good weather throughout and I was back down to the car at 12:00. My goal was to get to A-Frame but because of snow and lack of trail I had to stop.(url)14ers.com/images/userpics/u400p30_080330134133.jpg.
