 Princeton, standard route
Hiked up Princeton today and wanted to do a quick report for anyone heading up this weekend: Standard route from the radio towers, except for the various detours due to losing the trail, finding the trail, losing it again, giving up on the trail, finding the trail without looking for it, then, finally, losing it again.

No need for Crampons or snowshoes, but the trail does cross some snow fields.

Most are only a few dozen yards long, but they are fairly steep. They were easy walking on the boot pack on the way in, but slushy mush on the way out.

On the way out, I was glad I had my ice axe for balance, a treking pole would probably also work. The snow was so soft, I don‘t think you‘d slide if you slipped on the snow fields, but if do, the run out is bunch of rocks. So it just depends on your comfort level, but keep in mind the way out probably be very different than the way in. They‘re also melting fast, so the trail may be clear (but muddy) by Sunday.

Other than that, a great day. The valley was socked in with clouds at first, which provided some great pictures

Yes, went by myself. one party of 3 summitted before me, ran into two guys training for Rainier when I headed down from the summmit. Another party of 3, like me, lost in the talus, were heading up, and then caught 2 crossing the snow/slush. Actually kind of busy for a weekday.

"open beer: 3:30:05 pm"

Now those are important details we usually don't see in TR's! :D

Did you climb that by yourself? That 2nd shot looking down slope at the trail is awesome. Nice Hike! That first beer when you get down is the best beer a man can have.
