 North Ridge from Clear Creek
Parked at the end of the 4wd road that heads south out of Winfield. Almost any SUV should make it down the road with only one small section that drops off in a tight section of the trail. By taking the right line you should be fine.

Lots of cars already at the parking area before 7am. Started up the trail at 7 and made very good time. We broke out of tree line and crossed the only snow left on the trail in the basin NW of Huron.

Starting up the rock steps was painful for a minute as we had not stopped for a break at all and were still moving pretty fast. The trail is very wet in section here from the snow melt higher up. It was a fairly short trip to the saddle on Huron's north ridge. So far the trail had been in phenomenal condition and this continued to hold true all the way to the summit. Time to summit a fun 2:29. The views from Huron are better than many of the others we've done recently. Perfect weather didn't hurt, but the views of Holy Cross to the north and the Elks to the west were incredible.

This is a great trail to introduce someone to the fun of 14ers. The trail is in such good condition that by starting early enough anyone with basic cardio should be fine.
