Gray and Torreys: South Ridge from Horseshoe Basin, Peru Ck
SUNDAY, 21 AUG 2005: Drove to Shoe Basin Mine in Subaru with no problems, road good. Began hike at 7:15 in drizzle. Summit Grays at 10:00, walk to Torreys and summit at 10:45, almost as many dogs as people....back at car at 13:15 including lunch and picture stops. Only 10 total people on entire route to Grays summit from this side. Some 'route-finding' necessary from upper lake to Ruby Gulch intersection--but no problem as you could see people silhouetted on Grays, after that route is well defined.
