 Beautiful day!

This was my only 14er this year. Bummer!

however, it was One of the most beautiful days for a hike. Not a cloud in the sky. Could see lake Ann and Taylor reservoir from the summit. . Camped a 1/2 mile from the 4wd parking. Plenty of water available for filtering. The last 500 feet had some ice/snow. Over the shoes crampons saved my butt. Summitted with several new friends from northeast Florida,. Hit the peak about 11 am without a cloud in the sky. Saw a dozen or so other hikers.

Drove my full size tundra with a small trailer to the trailhead. Not a fun couple of miles but manageable. the whole road into Winfield is rough but very doable.

the aspens were spectacular!
