A Gorgeous Sunrise Hike with Homies

We had a group of 9 people total hiking up yesterday morning.

We were the first group heading up, as we went up at 3 am. We spent the majority of the climb up with headlamps on. Headlamps came off 250 ft from the top and we watched the sun rise and felt the first warmth of the day from the top of Grays. We then descended down into the saddle and back up Torreys to enjoy a charcuterie board.

There were a lot of pika around but we did not see any goats. The 14ers initiative is doing trail maintenance along the route also.

On the way down, we encountered a light hail storm for the last 0.5 miles of trail.

It was absolutely beautiful.
