 Report
Hiked on or around Sept 18, 2005 from Clear Creek TH

Wow, that high-clearance 4wd road between Winfield and the signed trailhead is an adventure! What a blast. Anyway, the trail proper starts out gentle for a half mile and then must average a 25 degree incline or so after that. The trail is a marvel of sound trail construction. By far the best steep trail I have ever had the pleasure to climb. It will remain in great shape for decades if not longer, except for the very top, which has some stretches of very shallow and slippery scree. The views are great and the hike is divided into 3 or 4 unique and distinct sections that keep it interesting.
