express trip from purgatory to all 3 summits
From what I hear this wasnt a first, but for me it was: starting at Purgatory at 4am, 5 of us ran down to the Animas River, along the trail to Needle Creek (6:30 am) then hike/ran up to Chicago Basin to do Eolus, Sunlight, Windom just before a big thunderstorm. Ran back to the car and arrived at 6 pm. Long day, but great for local Durangoans like us. I had spent a week up in Needle Creek in June, skiing some of the peaks and will spend more time up there in the future rather than rush, but it was fun either way.

Whoa! Let me get my bearings and breath! Matt and I tried this about two months before you and, even without successfully reaching any of the summits, we had a RT time of 17+ hours. You guys made it the whole way in 14 hrs.??? Utterly amazing. (And I'm sorry it took me 2 years to find this trip report...)
