Since I was in the area and Uncompahgre is fun and relatively easy peak to climb as evidenced by the high numbers of people I saw on the day, nearly 40 on a Thursday, I can only imagine how busy the weekends must be. Anyhoo... I started at 3:30 AM and since it had rained the night before for a good length and then some the trail was a bit muddy, but not too slippery. As I started I was alone at the start of the trail from the upper parking lot trail head, but as I walked along I saw other tents with lights stirring so they would be joining me shortly and most likely over taking me with my slow pace. Once out of tree line the trail is quite easy to follow with a good head lamp cutting the darkness. I made surprisingly good time until the difficult bit of loose rock on the backside that leads you to the summit, with the rain soaking everything the rocks were a bit slippery, but the soil was solid and not the usual dust slip and side, so it was just a matter of careful stepping until I found myself on the summit... before the sunrise! Maybe I am not as slow as I thought, probably not. It was anouther great sunrise from the summit, a wee bit windy, but to be expected. I enjoyed my morning coffee with the sun as a companion and after a bit of wandering around the summit to capture a delightful morning I was on my way down where there were nearly two dozen people on the way up. Since this was my first time using the standard route in summer I had the lovely surprise of the spring fed waterfall! What a great gem that I have missed only having done the mountain in winter and from the Wetterhorn-Uncompahgre combination. A video of the adventure can be seen here https://youtu.be/WPSQfV4upVY

Video is AMAZING! Nice use of the drone. (No drone footage from the rock scramble?)
Thanks for posting.
