September 18, 2005--Barr Trail Round Trip.
First attempt at Pikes Peak and for that matter, first attempt at a 14er. 
Started at 4AM and hiked for about two hours in the dark with a beautiful full moon above us. Reached the summit just before 11AM. Started our hike back down the mtn. at 11:40 and reached the parking lot just before 4PM.
Couldnt have asked for a more perfect day. Not a cloud in the sky.
I was almost disappointed to reach the summit and find tourists there, especially knowing that they took the easy way up.
