Whole day was gravy until now. Winds picked up heavy and so fast. Gear was solid and warm so just made extra work to get down.

I take it there was no real route finding, just follow the trail and cairns? Bierstadt will probably be my first winter 14er.

Correct. They have big giant wooden poles on the lower half of the trail as well. Up towards the top you can lose the trail and cairns going up but at that point you can just aim for the summit.
