Aiguille du Midi via Cosmiques Arete

Maybe my second or third favorite day of climbing. Also one of the absolute scariest moments I've had. Don't know why I never posted this video here.

Whereas the Aiguille d'Entreve is wildly exposed, the handholds are for the most part good since it's such a sharp edge. The Cosmiques Arete, on the other hand, had some places with ridiculous exposure with featureless granite, steep snow, and nowhere to place even mentally-reinforcing protection.

Certainly not the entire climb, but somewhere around the 2:45 mark in the video is pretty unnerving. A little bit later is the spot where I actually slipped. To this day I don't know if I arrested, the rope caught me, or both. I came to a stop with my ax in and the rope tight, and my partner very surprised and luckily not pulled off. Cue the music "Funeral".

Enjoy the VIDEO!
