I also found it warmer than denver and really, pretty pleasant to hike. The wind only became an issue above 12,000. But along the ridge to the summit, the snow was either packed or blown away. I, however, found the summit very windy when I was up there at about 1. (Must have just missed doggler up there, but I saw the couple with the Weimar coming up as I was heading down.) In all, I counted 17 people on the mountain that day, both skiers and summiteers, and Im sure it was actually more. Also, this really IS a great spot for skiing/snowboarding, I think especially on the southeast side where the slope below 12000 is not so steep and it is wide open with some trees mixed in and some trailfinding, but really not much. Its like resort slopes without the grooming and crowds of texans crisscrossing the runs in hot pink jumpsuits, cowboy hats and perfume.
