 North Face (Cables) Descent

For anyone new to the North Face descent, here is a GPX track with waypoints for the eyebolts. I found the crux to be making the first step down from summit in the right place... :)

Assuming dry and snow-free conditions, the upper section from the summit is mostly Class 2 and well-cairned. There are a few Class 3 moves on the way to the top eyebolt, and again from there to the middle eyebolt. A 50m cord is plenty to rappel from the middle and bottom eyebolts, after which some Class 4 downclimbing (or easy butt-sliding) returns you to Chasm View.

While this doesn't really qualify as a Trip Report, I love that you posted a GPX with waypoints marking the eyebolts. I had this loaded when I did my unplanned descent of Cables this past spring and it really helped to have something very specific like this to aim for, even though at the time it was so totally snowed over that I basically walked down in crampons. Still, there's ugly terrain nearby and I had never been on the route before so this provided great assurance that I was where I needed to be. Also came in handy for a recent aborted attempt to go up...
