Where: La Garita Wilderness
Trailhead: Spring Creek Pass (10,898')
Route: Ridge traverse returning via Snow Mesa along the Colorado Trail.
Distance: ~15 miles
Elevation Gain: ~4,800'
Human Participants: Dillon Sarnelli
Canine Participants: T. Rex Sarnelli
Time: 8 hours

Don't get me wrong, I like snow. I like it a lot actually. By mid July, however, I'm tired of falling down, sinking up to my elbows, and really just want to move quickly. I expected to see more snow on those peaks. BTW, they are on my wish list for August or September. Looks like the order you did them in is the way to go to avoid potential weather adventures on the ridge. Take care.

Eddie - me too. Looking back I'm not sure what would be worse, being on the snow mesa or on the ridge during a storm. On the ridge you can drop into the trees in a few spots at the low points. The mesa is so large you're kind of a sitting duck. :) Hope you're having a great summer!
