 Democrat/Lincoln/Bross -> 8/28/05
Camped at Kite lake overnight and was suprised that all available spots were occupied by late afternoon. The peaks looked amazing with new snow after an early evening squal.

We hiked the normal route to Democrat and did not encounter anything out of the ordinary, except a lot of people. Its really nice to see that people get out and hike rather than sit and watch TV. On the cross over to Cameron (as well as Lincoln and Bross) there were no visable signs of trespassing posted. But, down at the Kite Lake pay station, there was a small posted sign telling hikers they need to call the private land owners and get permission to hike the mountains (numbers provided).

Lincoln was amazing, with a great view of the 4X4 trail to Wheeler lake. And the hike was suprisingly tame, a lot easier than I thought it would be. Probably my favorite descent ever was down from Bross Scree Skiing. So much fun I almost wanted to hike back up and do it again!

All in all, my girlfriend and I made all peaks (including Cameron) in 5 hours. Amazing.

Be safe and take care,

Ryan Davis
