NOT BAD (BUT NOT GREAT EITHER)

This was my second attempt to climb Princeton, sort of.
My first attempt ended in the parking lot. I had forgotten
to bring a Delorom. (SIMILAR TO SPOT TRACK).
This time I had it and there was nothing stopping me (so far)
from reaching the summit! I have a mini-van as my vehicle
and as such, I started at the 2wd trail head. I had about a 3
and a half mile road walk ahead of me. Before I started
up the trail, I noticed that the horizon was getting lighter.
I was able to get a few nice pictures of the clouds getting
pink. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like me and I only
have 4 pictures from the entire trip. Shortly into the hike,
I put my micro spikes on, and these things are so amazing!
Uphill, downhill, it makes no difference! Made ok progress
up to the turnoff for Princeton's trail. And walked right
past it. I must have walked 150-200 yards past the turnoff
before realizing my mistake. To keep others from making
the same mistake, I made a 4-5 rock cairn to mark the
turnoff. Once again, I lost the trail, and decided to
make my way to the ridge crest. Shortly into this move,
I saw two hikers, on the trail. I then, went back to the trail,
which had been shown me.Since I was solo, it was very
hard to motivate myself to walk long distances without
breaks. (Note to self: get hiking buddy.) I had a snack break
on the ridge and really enjoyed the view. Near the top, I ran
a fellow hiker, and we jaw jacked a bit. On the top, I was
able to place a couple of calls. The view reminded me to
check out connecting ridges for a summer climb. When I
got back to the car, I was rather tired, but not discouraged
from this winter climbing game!

I agree with all the commenters above.
It sounds like a nice way to kick off the year.
I don't know how it looked.
