 My First Great Traverse Experience

In early September, myself and two friends successfully completed the Wilson & El Diente Traverse from Kilpacker Basin. This was my first "Great 14er Traverse" and was well worth it. We had been hoping to do the Bells Traverse this summer, but at the advice of a friend decided to start off with the "easier" of the four great traverses.

Well anyway, I'd definitely do this one again and I highly recommend it. I've attached a few of my photos here for your viewing pleasure. The full trip report, with many more photos, can be found at: www.bergmaierphotography.com/blog/wilson-el-diente-september-2017

Nothing unusual about our adventure, but certainly something worth documenting for the awesome memories!

Really enjoyed reading your report and your honesty on how you felt in some of those tricky spots. As someone who also is trying to build confidence / skills to do stuff like this (but nowhere close as of now), it really gives the reader a realistic insight into the difficulties of a climb / hike like this. Your pics were great too. Thanks for posting!! And congratulations on an awesome achievement!!

Super fun way to get your feet wet with the whole class 4/traverse stuff. Best of luck!

I'm planning to do this this summer. Thanks for the report and pics from the traverse's crux. It looks tough, but not as bad as I had made it in my head.
