Points 13,811 and 13,832
Time...6:45am - 2:15pm
Distance...8.4 miles
Elevation Gain...5104 feet
Trailhead...Bent Creek...about 1.75 miles past the Castle Lakes Campground
Route...South Ridge of 13,811...traverse to 13,832...South Ridge of 13,832 to Bent Creek
Here's a quick one on a good winter option for these 2 peaks. I was going to approach from Williams Creek but decided to give his more direct approach a shot. It worked out good and would be a safe route under most conditions.
Quick plug for Raven's Rest Hostel in Lake City. I have stayed there 5 or 6 times and love the place. The owner, Lucky, is great and the place is usually empty in the winter. For $26 a night, you can have the whole place to yourself.
This was taken on descent and shows where I parked.
I started out crossing this field and then up the hill...this is the start of the south ridge and it continues all the way to the summit of Pt. 13,811.
Ridge to Pt. 13,832
Looking back at Pt. 13,811 from 13,832
13,832 summit with my Summits 4 Shylah flag and my Brooke & Ben cairns
I decided to descend directly down the south ridge of 13,832 and into Bent Creek for a change of scenery. My suggestion would be to head back to the bump between the 2 points and follow the ridge back to connect with the south ridge of 13,811. Bent Creek was fun, but it gets tight and requires some creative bushwacking

I remember doing this from standard trailhead, with our Siberian Husky (pre Border Collie) since there was still some snow/cold and the kelpies did not have enough hair. The wind was like a jet engine on the saddle between the two peaks. Looks like a nice sunny day. You can really crank the vert. although for some reason I thought this was longer than 8 + miles.
